The use of natural stone in our area has increased exponentially in the past three decades. From a narrow selection of Milsap and Granbury builders, along with a dash of Austin Stone or a pinch of Oklahoma in the '70's, we've seen a proliferation of new materials from greater numbers of local quarries as well as materials shipped in from Arizona, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and abroad.
The number of local stoneyards in Dallas has grown from 3 to nearly a hundred in an effort to keep up with this demand. While most of these stock standard items, there are a few exceptional yards. However, I know of only one who will expend my kind of effort searching for just the perfect material for your project. One of the original 3: Chesshir Stone and Rock Supply.
